Anurag Kulkarni, hailing from Kamareddy, Telangana, was born into a Marathi-speaking family. Under the tutelage of Kakunoori Jangaiah, a renowned Hindustani vocalist from Hyderabad, he delved into Hindustani classical music, specializing in the kirana gharana style of singing.

Anurag clinched victory in the January 2015 edition of the Telugu reality singing contest, Idea Super Singer Season 8. Notably, as of August 2021, Anurag shared in an interview with Cinema Express that he had recorded over 800 songs in the Telugu language, solidifying his standing in the industry.
