Ghattamaneni Mahesh Babu, born August 9, 1975 and he  is a renowned Telugu actor . He was winning numerous awards. He’s also a notable producer, owning G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment.

As the son of Telugu actor Krishna,  Mahesh started young and  debuting in Needa (1979) at age four. His lead debut was in Rajakumarudu (1999) and  earning the Nandi Award for Best Male Debut. He gained fame with films like Pokiri (2006), Srimanthudu (2015), Maharshi (2019)  and Sarileru Neekevvaru (2020).

Pokiri was a top-grossing Telugu film, while Maharshi won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film. Fondly called Prince , Mahesh Babu is active in philanthropy, co-managing Heal A Child and supporting Rainbow Hospitals. He co-launched AMB cinemas in Hyderabad and married actress Namrata Shirodkar in 2005, with a son and daughter.

Ghattamaneni Mahesh Babu, born August 9, 1975, hails from a Telugu family in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India. Fourth among five children to Telugu actor Krishna and Indira, his roots trace to Burripalem in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. His childhood was mostly in Madras, under his maternal grandmother Durgamma’s care.

He attended St. Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Chennai, and later Loyola College, Chennai, where actor Suriya was his classmate. Surprisingly, he didn’t learn Telugu in school and can’t read the language. For film dialogues, he relied on memory or discussions with directors during dubbing.

Early career and breakthrough (1979–2003)

Mahesh Babu’s career took shape early, appearing in Needa (1979) at age four. He continued as a child artist in films like Poratam (1983), Sankharavam (1987), and others. His lead debut came in Rajakumarudu (1999), earning him the title “Prince.”

Murari (2001) marked a turning point, gaining commercial success and critical acclaim. Takkari Donga (2002) received mixed reviews, while Okkadu (2003) became a blockbuster, earning Babu his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu. Nijam the same year was praised for his performance but didn’t fare well commercially.

Pokiri (2006) propelled his career to new heights, becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film. Athadu (2005) and Arjun (2004) were well-received. Sainikudu (2006) had a lackluster response, while Athidhi (2007) had a mixed reception.

After a break, Khaleja (2010) faced delays and received mixed reviews, underperforming domestically but succeeding internationally. Despite fluctuations, Mahesh Babu remains a significant name in Telugu cinema.

In 2011, Mahesh Babu starred in “Dookudu,” a Srinu Vaitla film inspired by a German movie. Co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, it had a strong opening and became a major Telugu hit. Babu’s performance earned him awards, but financial rumors led to a tax inquiry.

The following year, “Businessman” showcased Babu as a mafia figure, receiving acclaim for his role and contributing to its box office success. This solidified his status as a highly paid actor in South India.

In 2013, “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu,” a family drama with Daggubati Venkatesh, became a major hit. It earned Babu awards and was among the year’s top-grossing Telugu films.

However, “1: Nenokkadine” in 2014, despite Babu’s strong performance, faced mixed reviews and struggled commercially. Similarly, “Aagadu” that year, co-starring Tamannaah Bhatia, didn’t resonate well with audiences despite decent box office figures.

However, the 2016 film “Brahmotsavam” didn’t resonate well with audiences or critics, leading Babu to acknowledge it as an error in judgment.

His 2017 Tamil cinema debut, “Spyder,” received mixed reviews despite decent box office performance.

“Bharat Ane Nenu” in 2018, directed by Koratala Siva, portrayed Babu as a chief minister, earning praise for its political drama and his impactful performance.
