Diti, the acclaimed Bangladeshi actress, embarked on her artistic journey through the realm of music. Her talent shone when she received an award at a national competition organized by the Bangladesh Shishu Academy.

While showcasing her singing prowess on Bangladesh Television, Diti’s path crossed with actor Al Mansur, who recognized her potential. This led to her casting in the television drama “Laili Majnu,” where she shared the screen with actor Manas Bandopadhyay.

Diti’s foray into the film industry occurred through the talent hunt competition “Notun Mukher Sondhane” in 1984, marking a significant turning point in her career. Although her debut film, “Daak Diye Jai,” directed by Udayon Chowdhury, was never released, it paved the way for her cinematic journey. Her first released film, “Ami-i Ostad,” became a stepping stone for her burgeoning film career.

Unfortunately, the marital bliss was marred by tragedy when Chowdhury succumbed to gunshots in 1998 at Trumps Club in Banani. Prior to this heartbreaking incident, the couple had already separated through divorce.
From their marriage, Diti and Sohel Chowdhury were blessed with a daughter, Lamia Chowdhury (born 1987), and a son, Shafayet Chowdhury Dipto (born 1989). The untimely loss of Sohel Chowdhury marked a challenging phase in Diti’s life.
Later on, Diti entered into another marital alliance, this time with actor Ilias Kanchan. However, this marriage also faced its share of challenges, leading to a subsequent divorce.
