Sidharth Sriram, born on May 19, 1990, is an accomplished Indian Carnatic musician, music producer, playback singer, and songwriter, nurtured in the United States. He specializes in R&B songwriting and has made significant contributions to the music scenes in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi, and English. His collaborations often feature his sister, Pallavi Sriram, a Bharatanatyam dancer, as well as various music directors across these industries.

Early life
Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Sid Sriram relocated to California with his parents when he was just a year old, settling in Fremont. His musical journey began under the guidance of his mother, Latha Sriram, a Carnatic music instructor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. At the tender age of three, Sid delved into Carnatic music, simultaneously developing an affinity for R&B.
Following his graduation from Mission San Jose High School in 2008, he pursued further studies at the Berklee College of Music, graduating in music production and engineering. Post-graduation, Sid has maintained a connection with India, regularly returning to perform Carnatic concerts, notably during the December Music season – Marghazhi Utsavam. Eventually, he made the move back to India and currently resides in the Mylapore area of Chennai.
Career
Sriram has been expanding his musical horizons, contributing to diverse regional industries. Notably, he lent his voice to Malayalam tracks like “Uyire” from Gauthamante Radham and Telugu numbers like “Kola Kale Ila” from Varudu Kavalenu. His talent also graced two songs in the Hindi film Jhund.

Moreover, he made an impactful debut as a music composer for the Mani Ratnam-produced film, Vaanam Kottatum, directed by Dhana Sekharan, previously known for directing Padaiveeran. His track “Srivalli” from Pushpa: The Rise garnered notable acclaim.

Beyond the cinematic sphere, Sriram unveiled his debut LP, “Entropy,” in 2019, stemming from an independent song released in 2012 under the same title. Transitioning to an all-English album titled “Sidharth,” a collaboration with producer Ryan Olson under the Def Jam label.

He skillfully amalgamated Carnatic melodies with R&B and indie rock influences, showcasing his diverse musical palette. The album, featuring singles like “Dear Sahana,” “The Hard Way,” and “Friendly Fire,” was released on August 25, 2023. Additionally, he has collaborated with independent musicians as a featured artist on various singles.
